1) You’re invited to Giant Road Grand Opening celebration You're invited!
Rubicon
Programs will celebrate the grand opening of Giant Road Apartments, new
housing in San Pablo for low-income and formerly homeless families, on
Monday, July 16, at 4pm. Please join us, our housing development
partner East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC),
officials from the City of San Pablo, Contra Costa County Board of
Supervisor John Gioia, State Assemblywoman Loni Hancock, the US
Department of Housing and Urban Development, neighbors and friends.

2) Wells Fargo’s eBus visits Rubicon’s Berkeley office On
Thursday, June 14 the Wells Fargo eBus visited the Berkeley office and
provided their mobile technology lab for Rubicon’s clients. The bus
is equipped with 15 computer workstations and high-speed satellite
Internet technology. The eBus is dedicated to serving Bay Area
communities, partnering with schools and nonprofit organizations, by
providing technology training and Internet access to persons with
limited technology resources.
Services provided on the eBus, conducted in English and Spanish, include:
• Workforce Development • Employment Research & Job Applications • Financial Literacy – Wells Fargo’s Hands On Banking • First-Time Homebuyer Education • Small Business Information & Resources • Introduction to Windows • Online Research • Résumé Writing • Email/Internet Training • Microsoft Word/Excel

3) Annual Art Exhibit a Success Every
summer the participants in Rubicon’s Independent Living Services
program proudly display their art in the garden outside Rubicon’s
headquarters in Richmond, CA. And every summer they talk to visitors
about their pieces of art including their inspirations and methods.
This year was a huge success with lots of visitors and lots of sales
(all money goes directly to the artists).

4) Rubicon welcomes new Board member, Tracy Curtis We
are excited to welcome Tracy Curtis to the Rubicon Programs Board of
Directors. Tracy is Wells Fargo’s Community Banking President for the
East Bay Market and is responsible for 17 banking stores along the
Highway 80 Corridor in western Contra Costa and northern Alameda
Counties. Tracy has held many leadership positions within Wells Fargo
including Regional Service Manager, District Manager, Market Support
Consultant and Store Manager in Contra Costa County.
“I am
excited to join Rubicon Programs’ Board of Directors,†said Tracy.
“It is clear to me and everyone who knows Rubicon that this is a well
established and well run organization that is changing people's lives
every day. It has a lasting and positive impact on everyone it serves
– people living in poverty and people living with mental illness. I
look forward to being a part of this great group of people and the next
phase of Rubicon’s growth.â€

help people who are low-income, homeless, and living with mental
disabilities live independent lives by providing jobs, housing, legal
services, career development services, mental health counseling, and
money management services. We run two social purpose businesses,
Rubicon Bakery and Rubicon Landscape Services, and from which 100% of
net proceeds support our programs.

years old, has served over 35,000 men and women, has created thousands
of jobs, and has provided hundreds of homes.
