RUBICON NAMED "ONE OF THE TOP 20 GROUPS THAT ARE CHANGING THE WORLD"

Rubicon has been selected as a Winner of the inaugural Social Capitalist Awards in the business magazine, Fast Company's January issue. A prestigious panel of experts completed an exhaustive study of 117 nominees from across the United States, and identified the top 20 as "the best of the best" organizations addressing the most critical issues facing the Country. "Rubicon is honored to be selected for this prestigious award. This helps validate that what we do everyday to change the lives of those we serve is both recognized and can be an example for others," says Rick Aubry, Rubicon's President and Executive Director. The hard copy will be on newsstands the end of December and throughout January. Or click on the magazine cover and read the article on-line!

HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Recently, the San Francisco Chronicle featured a series of articles about the problems of chronic homelessness in the City. The last article in the series talks about solutions and in particular notes how important supportive housing is to finding a solution. For most of Rubicon's 30 years, we have been developing just such alternatives. For us, the article came at a perfect time. On December 2nd we celebrated our final 30th Anniversary event of 2003 by honoring the work of Michael E. Farber, a project developer for Rubicon who passed away in 1996. Mike was responsible for the development of 9 of Rubicon's 11 affordable and supportive housing sites. In order to maintain Mike's spirit and ensure that the projects he so deeply cared about continue, we invite you to consider a gift to the Michael E. Farber Memorial Fund, here at Rubicon, to Rubicon's supportive housing fund, or any of Rubicon's programs. Click here to donate now or contact dougw@rubiconpgms.org
