I want to thank all of you who so generously supported us this past year and helped us to continue to assist our community members find jobs, housing, hope and a way to improve their lives. We could not have done this work without you, our supporters.

FINDING HELP & HOPE - FROM GIVING UP TO MOVING UP

There are hundreds of people making changes at Rubicon and thousands of stories to tell; Sherry Lebeck, Ph.D., clinical psychologist at Rubicon offers this story about "Ellen", a participant in Rubicon's CalWORKS Employment Program. "Ellen" came to us with multiple problems. For several months, "Ellen" and her son stayed in homeless shelters. She found herself becoming more and more depressed and unable to work. RUBICON'S SOCIAL CAPITALIST AWARD NOTED IN GOOD BUSINESS COLUMN

RUBICON BOARD OF DIRECTORS GAINS NEW MEMBER

In January, Erwin Reeves, Rubicon Board Chair and V.P. of The Mechanics Bank welcomed Rebecca Eaton to Rubicon's hard working board of directors. Ms. Eaton is founder and CEO of Remote Clinical Solutions, Inc. (RCS), a provider of innovative home health products and solutions. Prior to founding RCS, Ms. Eaton was a Product Manager at Siebel Systems and is a graduate of Harvard Business School. She says this about Rubicon and her membership, "Rubicon's integrated approach to assisting its clients through a wide array of services and its focus on measuring and monitoring results are best-in-class. I believe that Rubicon is an extraordinary organization and I look forward to working with the members of the Board to broaden the organization's funding base and reach."

Rubicon is now on Cole Hardware & Craigslist Wish List. Visit http://www.colehardware.com/cgi-bin/queryprog.cgi?program=Training_for_Self_Sufficiency and shop on line. Just type Rubicon’s name and find our list for supplies/equipment needed for the "Training for Self-Sufficiency" program. This program helps people with disabilities and people who are homeless or otherwise disadvantaged learn a skill and the work habits so that they can obtain an entry level job. They learn in a real work setting, earning a pay check in a commercial property maintenance training program as they work to maintain 100 housing units and program sites for very low income people operated by our agency. They paint, repair, clean and garden in this 12 - 20 week program. Funds are limited for this program and supplies and equipment are always needed. Current list is on the website.

Rubicon Programs is seeking a donation of a six-passenger van, new or used in good working order, for our Synthesis Day Center for daytime excursion program. Can you believe we haven’t gotten this yet? Let’s not let more time go by.
