NBC'S TODAY SHOW BROADCASTS FROM THE BAKERY

Al Roker of NBC's Today Show surprised the San Francisco Bay Area by broadcasting all of his Today Show segments live from The Rubicon Bakery. After an exhaustive national selection process to select the best organizations working in the US to aid low income families, Roker brought his annual "Lend a Hand" charity event to Richmond, California on Monday, April 5. Al presided over the delivery of $25,000 of goods from Sears to Rubicon Programs and its clients. In addition, Shannon O'Donnell, meteorologist for the Bay Area NBC affiliate, brought a local touch, broadcasting 4 hours of local weather from the Rubicon site, while she sampled some of Rubicon Bakery's latest dessert offerings. BOARD OF DIRECTORS GAINS 2ND NEW MEMBER in 2004

In March, Erwin Reeves, Rubicon Board Chair and V.P. of The Mechanics Bank welcomed another new member, Steve Kaufhold, to Rubicon's hard working Rubicon Board of Directors. Mr. Kaufold is an attorney and partner in Akin Gump. His work focuses on securities litigation, including shareholder class actions and derivative claims and he serves as a director of The Bar Association of San Francisco, The Bar Association of San Francisco Foundation and Communities In Schools of San Francisco. As a Contra Costa County resident, he is already familiar with Rubicon. We are very pleased to have his expertise available to us.
