Biography of Kari Ness Riedel
Kari has a wide range of experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations and a passion for using business principles to achieve a significant social impact.  She is committed to finding innovative ways to promote economic development and self-sufficiency for individuals and organizations.

Before joining Rubicon, Kari led the growth of multi-million dollar businesses in her role as a brand manager at Nestle USA and as an associate brand manager at Sara Lee.  She developed and implemented marketing strategies, cultivated consumer insights, and led the development and launch of new consumer food products.

Prior to that, Kari worked as a strategy consultant for Monitor Group.  She helped to grow sales and improve operational efficiencies for a variety of for-profit and nonprofit clients.

Kari’s first immersion in the field of social enterprise came through her work as the Business Manager and board member for The Enterprising Kitchen, a social enterprise in Chicago.  She helped the organization improve operational and financial controls and increased revenues through customer acquisition and new product development.

Kari holds an undergraduate degree in Finance from The College of William and Mary and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management.  She is also proud to be an alumni of AmeriCorps*NCCC.  Outside of work, she loves to run, hike, and enjoy the beautiful Bay Area with her husband and two kids.
